Set in 1964, Doubt centers itself around a nun who confronts a priest after suspecting him of sexually abusing a black student. Without a shard of proof, besides her moral certainty, Sister Aloysius (Streep) locks into a battle of wits with Father Flynn (Hoffman) which threatens to tear apart the small church community.
Doubt has a strong cast ,with Streep and Hoffman leading the way. Amy Adams does a great job of keeping up with her costars. Doubt is very well written and the drama in the film is very tense. The only problem with the film, which is very important, is the ending. The more you get into the plot the more you want to know what happens, only to be left hanging at the end. It is worth watching, but viewers beware of not being satisfied with the finale.
Verdict: Rent It.
